Sew a handy zipper pouch with a flat bottom. Zipper and fabric will be provided or bring your own choice (1/2 yard outer fabric and 1/2 yard of lining fabric).
Take your sewing skills up a notch and learn to install a zipper in your project. You will also learn about how to apply and use fusible fleece.
Prewashed cotton is recommended for both the outer and lining fabric (broadcloth, canvas, or calico prints will work well). All other supplies and equipment provided. Please sign up to make sure we have enough supplies at laportelibrary.org.
Participants and instructors will follow CDC guidelines for social distancing. Library instructors will wear face masks and face masks are recommended for participants. Surfaces and equipment will be cleaned and disinfected between sessions.

Library staff are happy to help you navigate the online catalog and will also show you how to access the library’s eResources, including eBooks, eMagazines, TumbleBooks, and databases. The Indiana Room provides a wealth of history covering La Porte and Indiana.
Children will be delighted with the iPad mounted in the Play, Grow, Read! area where they can practice the early literacy skills of reading, writing, singing, talking and playing. The knowledgeable staff can help you find the items you want. Whether you’re looking for information or entertainment, there’s something here for you.
