Go from beginner to pro in this beginner sewing class, that will teach the process of sewing a pattern kit. Sew an apron, with our new Janome sewing machines.
Navigate the process of completing a sewing pattern, from the reading of the instructions to sewing the last stitch. This class will provide you with the skills necessary to take on the challenge of finishing a sewing pattern kit on your own, while using the new sewing machines offered at the library. We will provide generic fabric, and all other material necessary for this class.
All fabric will be provide, however you may bring your own if you wish. This project requires 1 3/8 yds of fabric.
We are excited to be able to provide this program in-person. To do so, we will have to adapt in order to maintain social distancing. All attendees older than 2 yrs. of age must wear a face mask. Seating is arranged to maintain social distancing. Registration is required so that we can maintain these standards. If you do not feel comfortable attending in person or have an underlying health condition, please check our online calendar of events for online programs. The La Porte County Public Library has renovated and improved the Main Library building located at 904 Indiana Ave.
Library staff are happy to help you navigate the online catalog and will also show you how to access the library’s eResources, including eBooks, eMagazines, TumbleBooks, and databases. The Indiana Room provides a wealth of history covering La Porte and Indiana.
Children will be delighted with the iPad mounted in the Play, Grow, Read! area where they can practice the early literacy skills of reading, writing, singing, talking and playing. The knowledgeable staff can help you find the items you want. Whether you’re looking for information or entertainment, there’s something here for you.
Other services at this location include free notary public service, copier, faxing, and scanning. Outdoor book drops are available for after hours returns.
