The Friends of La Porte County Public Library Celebrates Giving Tuesday.
On December 1, Giving Tuesday, the Friends of the LaPorte County Public Library will inspire generosity by raising money for the LaPorte County Library’s 2021 Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales.
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world.
Each year, the library seeks to “reduce the slide,” by supporting students in ongoing literacy initiatives through the summer months to help maintain literacy progress made in the previous school year. “The Library’s Summer Reading Program is an integral part of the Library's Strategic Plan by supporting increased basic literacy and maintaining our focus on early childhood literacy," said Friends of the Library board member, James Conlin.
The Friends of the La Porte County Public Library is a 501c(3) non-profit organization made up of community members who advocate for the library by sharing their time and talents to organize fundraisers, encourage donations, gifts, endowments, and memorials to the Friends organization.
